ABOUT

B.A. in Fine Arts is a 3- year undergraduate course, the minimum eligibility for which is a higher secondary certificate examination (10+2) qualification with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized educational Board. B.A. in Fine Arts is a foundation course involving concepts of various forms of visual and performing arts including painting, sculpture, architecture, music and poetry that are developed primarily for aesthetics or beauty rather than commercial application. The undergraduate degree course often requires an area of specialization such as acting, musical theatre, ceramics, computer animation, creative writing, dance, dramatic writing, drawing, fiber, film production, visual effects, animation, graphic design, illustration, industrial design, visual arts, technical arts, interior design, metalworking, music, new media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, stage management, or television production. Typically, a Fine Arts degree is known as a BFA or BVA (Bachelor of Visual Arts). A degree in Fine Arts can open doors to a variety of career options such as Art Teacher, Writer, Fine Artist, Art Director, Actor, Craft Artist or Fine Artist, Multimedia Artist, Art Director, Art Teacher, Writer etc. The course incorporates instructional hours along with practical experience. Successful graduates of the course can pursue further studies and choose to major in ceramics, creative writing, graphic design, painting, photography, theater or any other fine arts discipline.

Fine Arts is a form of visual art different from applied art. The five main fine arts are painting, sculpture, architecture, music and poetry, with performing arts including theatre and dance. Recently, fine arts have also included film studies, photography, conceptual art, video production, and a few others as disciplines. Topics covered in the curriculum of visual arts include history of art, visual art theory and film and media studies. The course provides a wide range of exposure to students on various styles of painting including portraiture, landscape, still life, printmaking and life drawing. It also enables students to grasp the concept of pipeline production in 2D and 3D animation with additional knowledge of drawing and painting. This foundation course is an intensive program wherein a broad range of topics is covered in the 1st year, and in the 2nd year, specialization courses of Painting, Sculpture, Applied Art, Printmaking and Visual Communication are introduced to provide basic training in art and design.
